Guajirón Cuban Popular Music
Bongo or Conga
Player Wanted

Do you want to play Cuban Music?
Guajirón is looking for an additional Bongo and/or Conga player who has steady timing, solid patterns, and able to drive a bell or guiro right on top of the beat.

Amateurs welcome, as long as your timing is spot on. No need to know any fancy patterns or crazy solos, we provide training direct from Cuba. Part-time or guest-basis are fine!

We are a 9-piece indie orchestra bringing energetic, joyful Cuban music to life in San Francisco: From hot dance tunes to soulful ballads, we’re inspired by legends like Los Van Van, Trio Matamoros, Buena Vista Social Club, and Arsenio Rodríguez.

We combine Cuban rhythms with a touch of jazz—drawing from early New Orleans swing, Miles-era bebop, all in a Cuban style.

Regular weekly gigs for dancers, salsa nights, Jazz venues, private events, and small cultural festivals in and around San Francisco.
