Guajirón Cuban Popular Music
Bass Player Wanted

Do you want to play Cuban Music?
Guajiron is looking for a bass player who is comfortable with both Cuban and Jazz rhythms. Must be able to play strong tumbao.

We are a 9-piece indie orchestra bringing energetic, joyful Cuban music to life in San Francisco: From hot dance tunes to soulful ballads, we’re inspired by legends like Los Van Van, Trio Matamoros, Buena Vista Social Club, and Arsenio Rodríguez.

We combine Cuban rhythms with a touch of jazz—drawing from early New Orleans swing, Miles-era bebop, all in a Cuban style.

Regular weekly gigs for dancers, salsa nights, Jazz venues, private events, and small cultural festivals in and around San Francisco.

Options for full band member, part-time member, or be on our substitute list!
