Cuban classics, alive in the room
Formed in San Francisco, Guajirón brings together musicians from across the Bay Area around the songs, rhythms and ensemble craft of Cuban popular music. The orchestra’s arrangements move through son, charanga, guaracha, bolero and Tropical Jazz—with room for the melodies, conversation and rhythmic detail that make this music endure.
Guajirón is led by a dancer, giving every arrangement a distinctive focus: energy that moves feet. Every program is built to connect: salsa dance music for a packed club, a listening set for a concert audience, or a generous live soundtrack for a festival and community gathering.
